Memberships are valid from September 1 to August 31 each calendar year. Membership dues are non-refundable.


We’re Back! Call for Blog Posts

We are excited to relaunch the BWSA blog this fall with a rolling call for blog posts. We welcome research-based pitches from any discipline. Black Women’s Studies must be central to the proposed blog post. Click here for more information!

2023 Special Election - Deadline Extended!

BWSA invites self-nominations for vacant positions including vice president, blog editor, and social media coordinator. Officers will serve until August 2024. Required documents must be submitted by March 3, 2023. Click here for more information on running for office!

Graduate Student Panel

BWSA invites proposals from graduate students in any discipline for a panel on Black LGBTQ Studies. Submissions are due by June 30, 2021 and the panel will be held in Fall 2021. Submissions will only be accepted from current members of BWSA. Click here for more information on how to submit a proposal!
