Assistant/Associate Professor of History (Sub-Saharan Africa)

The Washington and Lee University History Department invites applications for a tenure-track position in sub-Saharan African history at the Assistant or Associate level. The appointment begins July 1, 2020. Area and period of research specialty are open. Candidates should be prepared to teach surveys of African history and upper-level courses related to areas of interest and expertise. Candidates should also be prepared to contribute to the university's interdisciplinary Africana Studies program.

• A Ph.D. by the time of appointment is required.
