Assistant Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in Women/Gender/Sexuality/Feminist Studies or closely related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution by August 24, 2020. ABD applicants may be considered but must complete the terminal degree by August 24, 2020.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated ability of university teaching at the introductory and upper division levels, with emphasis on Transnational/Global Feminisms or LGBTQ Studies/Queer Theory. In addition, applicants who have research and teaching specializations in some combination of the following fields are especially encouraged to apply: Critical Race Theory, Ethnic Studies, Indigenous Feminism, Decolonial Methodologies, and/or Environmental Justice. The candidates need to provide evidence of strong scholarship or scholarly potential, and demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.

Area(s) of Specialization Desired: Transnational/Global Feminisms or LGBTQ Studies/Queer Theory. Teaching Load: DUTIES: Teach a 12-credit course load each fall and spring semester, consisting of required courses for the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program or other courses as assigned by the WGSS Program director; engage in research and scholarly activities; provide academic advising to students as assigned; and participate in program, college, and university service work.

Expected Service Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic advising to students as assigned; and participate in program, college, and university service work.
